Karina Sonmez

I've been fortunate to work in a variety of educational settings and learn about

various teaching philosophies, including Montessori, IB PYP, Reggio & Waldorf.

My previous work experiences and education in Speech-Language Pathology,

Audiology and Linguistics have taught me a great deal about child development and

facilitation. Being a part of a founding team and opening schools has given me a unique perspective and understanding of building operations and curriculum school-wide. 

I have discovered my intrinsic motivation for working with children and families in a creative environment. Central to my success is the personal values I bring to every project: positive energy, commitment, collaboration, and inspiration. Moreover, I believe that a community isn’t something that exists in a bubble or is tied to a physical location. It’s something families hold with them and share with others. It’s a network that transcends any one location or experience. It can be cultivated through a strong social experience that integrates every detail from aesthetics to activities. I care deeply about the quality of culture in education and I'm driven to contribute to a positive and holistic environment.
